Group Wants To Make It Harder To Change Colorado's Constitution

DENVER (CBS4)- The Raise the Bar campaign hopes to get an initiative on the November ballot that would make it harder to change Colorado's constitution.

The group turned in 185,000 signatures on Friday.

If the initiative gets on the ballot and passes, it would take 55 percent approval for an amendment to pass instead of a simple majority. Signatures would also need to be collected from voters all over the state, not just Denver.

Colorado's constitution has more than 150 amendments compared with the U.S Constitution's 27 amendments.
