Ground delay ordered at Denver International Airport due to low visibility

A ground delay was ordered at Denver International Airport on Wednesday morning due to low visibility. According to the FAA, departures to Denver were delayed an average of 40 minutes.

The ground delay was put in place at 8 a.m. and was expected to expire at 12:59 p.m. 

The ground delay was expected to impact hundreds of flights. 

On Tuesday, the National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for Denver International Airport. The advisory was in effect until 7:15 p.m.  

In addition to the advisory, Denver International Airport also had a ground stop order. The Federal Aviation Administration website indicated the ground stop was in effect for departing flights to Denver for several hours.
