Grass Fire Breaks Out In Windy Conditions In Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Colo. (CBS4) - Just before noon Friday several fire departments responded to a grass fire that was putting out a smoke in Louisville.

It took firefighters about 40 minutes to get the fire under control. It burned approximately 5 acres on Campus Drive east of Monarch High School.

Emergency crews had to close 96th Street for about an hour between Dillon Road and Northwest Parkway while they fought the fire.

There were no structures damaged and no one injured in the fire. The cause hasn't been determined.

Windy conditions were being felt across the Front Range on Friday. Gusts as high as 43 mph were being recorded at midday in the northwestern part of the Denver metro area.
