Govs. Hickenlooper, Herbert Appoint Mead To Governors Group Position

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead has been appointed vice chair of the National Governors Association's Natural Resources Committee.

Mead was appointed to the post by Association Chair Gov. John Hickenlooper of Colorado and Vice Chair Gov. Gary Herbert of Utah.

The association's Natural Resources Committee oversees issues related to agriculture, energy, the environment and natural resources. The committee ensures that the governors' views are represented to the federal government.

Mead's term as vice chair is for one year.

California Gov. Jerry Brown will serve as the committee chair.
