Georgia Man Arrested In Colorado For Alleged Internet Luring Of Child

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - A man from Georgia is behind bars in Jefferson County and facing charges of attempted sexual assault on a child.

The Jefferson County District Attorney's Office says James Lee Pierce, 52, came to Colorado on April 17 from Rome, Ga. to meet someone he believed was an underage girl so they could have sex.

An investigator was posing as a 15-year-old girl when they say Pierce made contact.

"The investigator was in a social networking site portraying himself as a child under the age of 15," Pam Russell with the district attorney's office said in a statement. "The communication from Pierce is alleged to have become sexually graphic and to have continued over the next three months."

Russell said Pierce requested the underage teen to send him naked pictures.

"He also sent sexually graphic photos of himself to the purported underage teen," she said.

Pierce was arrested on suspicion of Internet luring of a child, Internet sexual exploitation of a child and attempted sexual assault of a child.
