Generous Donor Helps Boy Scouts After Trailer Stolen

BROOMFIELD, Colo. (CBS4)- A generous donor has helped out the Boy Scouts after a trailer filled with equipment was stolen last week.

Ken Kinnard's trailer was stolen from an outside storage lot off Colmans Way in Broomfield.

It's where the Weblos Weekend Workhorse has been stored for several years, but late April 25 a thief or thieves cut the lock on the gate and took off with the trailer. Inside were several handmade and donated items the local scouts have collected over the past 25 years.

The gear is used for a yearly campout with hundreds of people every Memorial Day weekend. The 40th annual event is just four weeks away.

After seeing the story on CBS4, one man offered to buy the scouts a new trailer. Kinnard picked it up on Sunday and shook hands with the man who didn't want to be identified.

Broomfield police are investigating the theft, adding there have been no other reports of items stolen since the trailer went missing. Anyone who spots the trailer is asked to call police right away.
