Gate To Be Installed At Hanging Lake To Control Overcrowding

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- A gate is being installed at the popular Hanging Lake hiking trail to control overcrowding and parking issues.

More than 130,000 people hike the 1.2 mile trail to the small turquoise lake each year, most of them between May and September.

The Colorado Department of Transportation will install a gate on Thursday that will show when the parking area is full. It will also direct traffic elsewhere.
