Gas main breaks in Silverthorne, police send out evacuation order in the Colorado mountain town

Xcel Energy crews are repairing a gas main that broke on Tuesday in the Colorado mountain town of Silverthorne.

The break led to an evacuation in the neighborhood where it happened. After several hours, the evacuation order was lifted.

The break happened at Chipmunk Lane and Golden Eagle Road. That's about 2 miles north of Interstate 70.
