Gardner Appointed Chair Of National Republican Senatorial Committee

WASHINGTON (CBS4) - Sen. Cory Gardner is adding a new role to his job. Colorado's junior senator is now the head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

It's a group that's devoted to getting Republican senators elected.

Gardner says Republicans will continue to lead the way.

"As we have led on transportation, as we have led on energy, as we have led -- with great success -- over the past two years with bipartisan efforts and accomplishments, that led to the majority this November and it will lead to keeping and retaining and growing the majority in November of 2018," Gardner said in Washington on Wednesday.

Republicans retained the majority of the Senate -- with 52 out of 100 members.
