Funkiphino Brings The Crowd To Its Feet

DENVER (CBS4) - Funkiphino is a big Colorado band with an even bigger sound.

"We have a 13-piece band, a five-piece horn section," said Chris Fischer, one of the band's founders. "We play a mix of old school funk and new R&B.

The band has three singers who trade off during the shows which means the energy never stops.

Lori Crotseris is one of those vocalist. "It's a lot of high energy dance music," is how she describes the band's vibe.

And any performance of Funkiphino has a distinct effect on every crowd.

"Inevitably people are dancing," Crotseris said.

Fischer agrees.

"Lots of energy from the first downbeat," he said. "The dance floor gets packed, people have a good time, they can't help but move."

And it's that kind of energy Funkiphino will bring to Civic Center Park when the band gets the crowd up and moving and ready for the fireworks on Independence Eve.
