Funeral Held For Colorado Trooper Killed By Suspected DUI Driver

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Law enforcement officers from across the country on Monday honored a Colorado State Patrol trooper who investigators say was killed by a vehicle driven by a retired Army colonel who they suspect had been drinking.

They were among hundreds of people who attended a memorial service for Trooper Jaimie Jursevics Monday in Englewood.

Investigators say Eric Henderson hit the trooper Nov. 15 as she was using her flashlight to direct him to the side of Interstate 25. He was on his way home after attending a Denver Broncos game.

Jursevics is survived by a husband and an 8-month-old daughter.

At the service, Gov. John Hickenlooper said whenever an officer is killed, people are reminded of the heart behind every badge.

Henderson has not commented on the allegations.
