Frontier Airlines Has Many New Fees To Tally Up

DENVER (CBS4) – Frontier Airlines now has a new rate structure that includes many new fees.

If customers buy the most basic ticket they'll have to pay for any extras from the Denver-based airline.

Carry-ons will now cost $25 if paid at the time of booking, $30 if paid at online check-in, $35 at the airport, and $50 at the gate.

"I would not like that. I would say a bad word," said one traveler.

If travelers want to choose their own seat it will cost a minimum of $3 to $15.

David Siegel of Frontier Airlines says the new structure is designed to save people money.

"What we're trying to do is give customers a choice … they get to pay for what amenities they want and only pay for what they use. If they do that they'll save money," said Siegel.

Frontier also charges for all beverages -- even non-alcoholic drinks.

"I don't know, I'm just going to have to look around," said a traveler.

When booking, beware of all the added fees.
