Front Range Community College Told To Evacuate After Threat On Social Media

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - An emergency alert was sent out Friday afternoon for people to evacuate Front Range Community College in Fort Collins.

The alert stated, "An Evacuation Order has been issued for the Larimer Campus. Do not come to campus until instructed. If on campus, take your belongings and evacuate the campus."

According to FRCC, the Larimer Campus received a report of an individual making a threat against a student and instructor on the FRCC Larimer Campus.

"The Fort Collins Police are investigating this incident and are interviewing a person of interest," FRCC said in a statement.

Approximately 9,700 students go to the Larimer Campus.

Because of concerns for the safety of the campus, the Larimer Campus will be closed at least until 5:00 p.m. tonight. Classes and activities at other campuses are unaffected and will be held as scheduled. Please consult the FRCC web page at frontrange.edu for updates. Campus also is scheduled to be open on Saturday for its regular hours.
