Fort Morgan Police Search For Armed Robbery Suspect

FORT MORGAN, Colo. (AP) — Fort Morgan officials say there is nothing to suggest that a gunman who wounded a shopper while robbing a store run by African refugees targeted any specific population.

Interim Police Chief Jared Crone asked the public Tuesday for information that could lead to the arrest of the gunman, described as a light-skinned man in his 20s or 30s with a tattoo on the bridge of his nose.

The man reportedly fled in a light-colored Buick with no front license plate.

City spokesman Jon Brennan says the man stole an undetermined amount of cash in the Friday evening robbery. A store patron, Abdi Alishire, was treated for a non-life-threatening injury.

Crone met with Somali leaders in Fort Morgan to discuss their security concerns. Police also stepped up area patrols.
