Bill McPherson was one of the veterans who attended the ceremony. He served three years as a combat gunship pilot.

"Today we're here to recognize Vietnam veterans that did not get recognition when they came home. American people need to realize that they owe everything to our veterans," McPherson said.

March 29 is Vietnam Veterans Day as on this day in 1973 the last combat soldiers left Vietnam.

Every Vietnam veteran who attended the ceremony received a pin. It's meant to recognize and thank them for their service.
