Fort Collins Officer Fired For Allegedly Stalking Woman On The Clock

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - Fort Collins Police Services has arrested and fired one of its officers.

Jarett Branson is accused of stalking a woman. Investigators say he used police resources to find out where the woman worked and lived.

Branson allegedly contacted the woman while he was on duty. He is now facing stalking, criminal trespass and misconduct charges. He remains in custody and was scheduled for a video arraignment at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Branson previously worked as an officer in Butte, Mont., where he received an Officer of the Year of award in 2011 "to honor police officers who go beyond the call of duty to help victims of domestic and sexual abuse," according to the Montana Standard.
