Fort Carson Welcoming Home Soldiers From Iraq

FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) — Fort Carson is welcoming home about 20 soldiers who have been supporting the military intervention against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

The soldiers returning Friday are members of the 4th Infantry Division and were sent to Iraq in December. Fort Carson says they provided radar coverage at Al Asad Air Base for more than 900 U.S. and coalition forces.

All were awarded Combat Action Badges for attacks on the air base in February and March.
