Fort Carson To Welcome Home About 20 Soldiers

FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) — Fort Carson is set to welcome home about 20 soldiers who have spent the past year in Afghanistan.

The soldiers with the 242nd Ordnance Battalion, 71st Ordnance Group were deployed last July and were part of a team that rendered safe 135 improvised explosive devices and cleared 96 caches, 1,156 routes and 115,389 pounds of explosives.

Their homecoming ceremony will be held at the Special Events Center on post at 4 p.m. Saturday.
