Fort Carson Soldiers Leave For Africa To Help In Ebola Fight
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- A group of 160 Fort Carson soldiers deployed to West Africa Monday morning to help with the Ebola outbreak.
The soldiers were briefed about the risks that come with their deployment last week.
The troops will build roads and treatment centers in Liberia but they will have little exposure to Ebola patients.

Despite the low risk experts believe it's important for soldiers to get as much information about the potentially deadly disease before they deploy.
"Our office deals with soldiers on a daily basis and we were having concerns as to what the readiness was going to be," said Fort Carson employee Jeanne Breisch.
The soldiers could be in Liberia for up to a year.
They will be placed in mandatory quarantine when they return to the U.S.
