Fort Carson Battalion On Lockdown Due To Missing Pistol

FORT CARSON, Colo. (CBS4) - A soldier lockdown continued at Fort Carson on Sunday.

The lockdown involved about 500 soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment "Iron Knights."

Fort Carson put the lockdown in place after someone removed a pistol belonging to the base from the unit area.

The term "lockdown" in this case means soldiers are not being released from duty until the item is found.

The pistol was first reported missing on Thursday.
