Former Teacher's Aid Pleads Guilty After Found With Syringe In Arm

DENVER (CBS4) - A Denver teacher's aide pleaded guilty to drug possession on Friday after she was found passed out in a grade school bathroom with a syringe sticking in her arm.

Court documents state four first-graders discovered Cassandra Rein on the floor of the bathroom at the Denver Center for International Studies at Ford Elementary School in May.

Police say they also searched Rein's purse and found various pill bottles, more syringes and metal caps containing a burnt powder substance residue.

Rein initially told police she had a diabetic roommate and didn't know how the syringe got in her arm.

She is scheduled to appear in court for sentencing in September.
