Former Nursing Assistant Convicted Of Sex Assault

BROOMFIELD, Colo. (AP) - A jury has convicted a former nursing assistant accused of sexually assaulting two patients at a Broomfield nursing home where he worked.

The Broomfield Enterprise reports Antonio Nieto was convicted Friday of four counts of sexual assault on an at-risk victim and one count of unlawful sexual contact on an at-risk victim. He is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 15.

Prosecutors say Nieto sexually assaulted a 59-year-old and a 73-year-old while he worked at Broomfield Skilled Nursing. The victims said Nieto sexually assaulted them while he was assigned to their care.

Lawyers also looked into whether a possible third victim, a 93-year-old woman, would be part of the trial, but they agreed there wasn't enough evidence to include her in the case.
