Former Nuggets Point Guard 'Fat' Lever Honored

DENVER (CBS4)- A former Denver Nuggets star is being honored at Wednesday night's game against the Lakers. Lafayette "Fat" Lever is a 6-foot-3 point guard.

Lever had 46 triple doubles during his Nuggets career from 1984 to 1990 and is the franchise's all-time leader in steals and second in assists.

Lever averaged 17 points a game. The Nuggets made the playoffs during all six of his seasons in Denver.

Lever attended the Nuggets shoot around on Wednesday morning where he talked about why the Nuggets hold a special place in his memory.

"A tremendous, tremendous experience for me being back and seeing what I really miss. That's the Nuggets. I watch them from a distance on TV, most of the games where they play. I'm very familiar with a lot of the players so to see what's going on now, good, bad and indifferent, I'm still a fan. I enjoy watching the Nuggets play," said Lever.
