Former Gymnastics Coach Found Not Guilty Of Sexually Assaulting Students

BROOMFIELD, Colo. (CBS4) - A gymnastics teacher accused of sexually assaulting teenagers was found not guilty on Friday after a four-day trial.

Robert Barke, 33, faced more than 20 counts, including sexual assault on a child and unlawful sexual contact.

Two former students, then 12 and 14, said Barke assaulted them while he coached them at Xtreme Altitude Gymnastics in Broomfield between 2004 and 2007. They are now 21 and 22.

When Barke was arrested, he'd already left Colorado to work in Texas. He was let go from that position when officials learned about the investigation.
