Former Evans Officer Accused Of Murdering Wife Ordered Back To Court

EVANS, Colo. (CBS4) - A former Evans police officer accused of murdering his wife has been ordered back to court on April 22.

Thomas Fallis is charged with shooting his wife Ashley Fallis on New Year's Day 2012. At first her death was ruled a suicide but the case was reopened.

Ashley Fallis' family members claim Thomas Fallis had something to do with the death and that statements from key witnesses were omitted or changed from the original police report, including a statement from Ashley's 6-year-old daughter.

The indictment says Thomas Fallis became angry during a New Year's party hosted by the couple, and later fought with Ashley over smoking before getting a gun and killing her.

Fallis has asked to return to Indiana while he's on bond. The state Supreme Court must rule on that request before the case goes any further.
