Former El Paso County Sheriff's Deputy Accused Of Murder

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - A former El Paso County sheriff's deputy now faces charges of second-degree murder.

Nikolas Gianes, 31, is accused of shooting 32-year-old Fawn Gianes in Colorado Springs on Friday night. Nikolas Gaines was a deputy for four years before resigning in 2012.

Three children were also inside the home during the shooting but weren't hurt.

El Paso County says the home in the 5300 block of Babcock Place belonged to the suspect.
