Former Doctor Indicted After 2 Deaths In Illegal Prescription Distribution

PARKER, Colo. (CBS4) - A former doctor in Parker and two Denver metro area pharmacists have been indicted for illegal distribution of prescription drugs.

Authorities have investigated their roles in the deaths of two patients.

One pharmacist worked at a pharmacy inside Parker Adventist Hospital and the other at an independently-owned pharmacy inside the Sky Ridge Medical Center office building.

Investigators claim Stanley Callas and Scott Eskanos knowingly filled early refill prescriptions prescribed by Dr. John Littleford.

Littleford was arrested on Tuesday in Kansas. Littleford owned the Pain and Injury Clinic on Progress Way in Parker.

Dianna Smithling also faces charges in the case.
