Former Bronco Decker Catching On To New Offense With Jets

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP)Eric Decker says he's getting a good grasp of the New York Jets' offensive system as the wide receiver transitions to his new team.

Decker, who spent his first four seasons in Denver, was one of the biggest free-agent signings of the offseason, getting a five-year deal from the Jets to bring a No. 1-type of receiver to Marty Mornhinweg's offense.

Decker missed some time at the voluntary practices last week to attend the CMT Music Awards in Nashville with his wife, recording artist Jessie James. While the wide receiver received criticism for not attending practice, he says he got full support from coach Rex Ryan and the team.

Decker adds that he has liked what he has seen from second-year quarterback Geno Smith, calling him "a leader."
