Former Boulder Detective Guilty Of Interfering With Sex Luring Sting

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - A jury has found former Boulder police detective Jack Gardner guilty of interfering with an Internet child luring case.

A man had planned to meet up with a 13-year-old girl he thought he'd been talking to on-line but Gardner sent the man an email warning him the meeting was actually a police sting.

Garner's attorney argued his client's mental state had been impaired when he sent the email because Gardner had been upset about not being more involved in the case.

Gardner will be sentenced in November.
