Flags Flown At Half-Staff To Honor Soldier From Thornton

DENVER (AP/CBS4) — Gov. John Hickenlooper ordered that flags be lowered to half-staff Monday in honor of a 21-year-old Thornton soldier who was killed in Afghanistan.

Fort Carson officials say Pfc. Jacob H. Wykstra was killed in a helicopter crash in Kandahar Province on May 28. He was an infantryman assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.
