First Recreational Marijuana Shop Opens In Boulder County
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - The first recreational marijuana store in Boulder County opened its doors on Tuesday.
The medicinal pot shop Karing Kind was the first in the county to sell recreational marijuana.
Dylan Donaldson says he's been in business for 4 years and has worked very hard to run the shop legally and cross all his "T"s and dot all of his "I"s. So he's very pleased now to be the first in the county to be open to the public.
Donaldson says it took some time for his county license because of other pressing issues like the floods. But he says he now has his county license after a mandatory 45-day waiting period.
"Tuesday will be day 46. We've got an appointment at 8 a.m. to pick up the license and as soon as I can drive back and hang it on the wall, we're going to open our doors and start serving our community here," Donaldson said.
Donaldson says he knows other Boulder shops are also in the process and says he welcomes the competition. He says there's enough demand in Boulder to go around.
