Fireworks To Blame For Blaze That Damaged 2 Aurora Homes

AURORA, Colo. (AP) — Fire officials say one person has been injured after fireworks caused a blaze that damaged two homes in Aurora.

The fire broke out Tuesday night after officials say fireworks were set off between the two houses. Crews had responded to the scene and were able to bring the flames under control in about 15 minutes.

The Aurora Fire Department says one person was taken to a hospital and five people have been displaced by the fire. Four of those left without shelter were from one house, and one person was from the other residence.

The Red Cross had been on site to assist them with finding shelter.

Fire department spokesman Tony Krenz says personal use of fireworks is illegal in Aurora, and violators could face fines and criminal charges.
