Roofers Jump To Safety Moments Before Roof Collapse

ENGLEWOOD (CBS4)- Firefighters in Denver rushed to a home after the roof collapsed.

The roof of the home in the 2800 block of South Bannock collapsed about 1:34 p.m. while repairs to the roof were being made.

Investigators say the roofers heard what they described as a "creaking" noise and then had to jump off the roof. Once they were on the ground, the roof collapsed.

What caused the roof to collapse is unknown.

No one was home at the time the roof collapsed and no one was injured.

There was heavy damage to both the structure and the interior of the home.
