Firefighters Rescue Dog Trapped In Culvert

MEAD, Colo. (CBS4) – Firefighters with Mountain View Fire Rescue worked to cut through a culvert where "Flash," a Border Collie, was trapped.

Flash disappeared from his home in Mead Thursday night and his owner looked for him for three hours.

When he went to get his paper Friday morning he checked the culvert and found Flash stuck inside.

Firefighters gave him tranquilizers to keep him calm while they cut the culvert away.

"It wasn't very difficult. It was really good training for our crews. They were able to use one of our saws and did a nice job with that," said Dean Street from Mountain View Fire Protection.

Flash is expected to be fine.
