Firefighters Rescue Cats, Dog From Apartment Blaze

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Firefighters rescued two cats and a dog from an apartment fire early Wednesday afternoon.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department tweeted about the incident at the Antero Apartments in the 1400 block of Sandalwood Drive.

The fire began on the third floor of the apartment complex, but was quickly knocked down and declared under control.

The three pets were provided medical attention by firefighters on scene, including giving them oxygen.

There is no word yet if any people sustained injuries in the blaze, or the extent of damage to the building.
