Firefighters Help Man Whose Shelter Burned On Thanksgiving

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Firefighters are helping a man who lost his home by finding him food and shelter on Thanksgiving.

Crews with West Metro Fire said the man was living in a shed near 14th Avenue and Harlan Street when it caught fire at about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Firefighters said a space heater likely ignited flammable objects.

The fire department has a fund that assists people who lose their homes to fires.

They lost everything on Thanksgiving," Keith Schneider, an assistant chief with West Metro Fire, said.
