Firefighters Gaining Control Of Wildfire Burning At Fort Carson

FORT CARSON, Colo. (CBS4) - Firefighters are gaining control on a wildfire that has burned 900 acres at Fort Carson.

Crews were using a helicopter to drop water on the flames on Thursday but the smoke was visible across the southern part of the state.

Lightning was thought to be the cause of the fire. It's in the middle of the training area at the military base just south of Colorado Springs.

No structures are threatened by the fire.
