Firefighters Extinguish 2-Alarm Brush Fire Near Castle Rock
CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (CBS4)- Monday's afternoon rain helped firefighters battling a two-alarm brush fire that burned near Castle Rock.
The fire burned about two acres a half-mile north of 3833 Crowfoot Valley Road about 2:40 p.m. Monday.
Crews rushed to the fire and declared it was a two-alarm fire. The fire was fueled by strong winds and dry vegetation.
An afternoon rain storm helped bring moisture to the area and helped out firefighters.
Structures were initially threatened but once firefighters contained the fire that threat was diminished.
What caused the fire was still investigated on Tuesday.
