Firefighters Contain House Fire That Spread To Trees In High Country

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a fire that destroyed a home in Steamboat Springs.

Firefighters showed up to find the building located in the 1800 block of Fish Creek Falls Road fully engulfed in flames. The fire had also spread to several nearby pine trees.

"Initial arriving crews found the residence to be fully involved in fire and had caught numerous pine trees next to the residence on fire," Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue said in a statement.

Energy crews were called in to help shut off a natural gas line that was fueling the blaze.

Nobody was hurt but the home is a total loss.
