Firefighter Injured On Fire Call Released From Hospital

DENVER (AP) — One of the two Colorado firefighters injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash while responding to a house fire south of Denver has been released from the hospital.

The Franktown Fire Protection District water tanker went off a rural road, through a fence and into a field just west of Castle Rock in Douglas County on Tuesday night. The firefighters had to be cut out of the two-person truck and were airlifted to a Denver-area hospital.

Officials say the second injured firefighter still in the hospital Wednesday was improving and resting comfortably.

Their names have not been released. Investigators have not said what led to the crash.

Several fire departments were responding to a house fire in Sedalia when the accident occurred.
