'Firebomb' Devices Destroy Mailboxes In Weld County
GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4)- Four mailboxes were destroyed by explosive devices in Weld County last weekend. Investigators are trying to find those involved.
The Weld County Sheriff's Office received four reports of citizens' mailboxes being destroyed by what's being called a "firebomb" between August 9 and 10.
One explosive device was still in the mailbox.
Weld County Bomb Squad technicians responded to the 7000 block of Weld County Road 76 and recovered the device.
It was described as a firework wrapped in duct tape.
A possible suspect vehicle was seen leaving the area. That vehicle is described as a newer red SUV, possibly a Jeep Liberty.
The incidents occurred between Weld County Road 17 and Weld County Road 19, Weld County Road 76 and Weld County Road 90.
No one was injured.
