The house is located at 9610 South Perry Park Road just west of Larkspur. It's a total loss.

Crews faced some challenges trying to gain access.

"We have some tinder trucks … there's only a couple that can go in at the same time, so it slows down the process a bit because you can only get one in. Once they empty out then they have to get out of the way so another water truck can go up there … that does slow down the process because it is a narrow roadway," Lori Bronner with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire but firefighters rescued two dogs inside.

The cause is under investigation but doesn't appear suspicious.
