Fire Danger High As Drought Creeps Deeper Into Foothills

By Chris Spears

DENVER (CBS4) - Over two million people in Colorado are now living with drought, mostly along the Front Range.

The latest report from the U.S. Drought Monitor showed drought has crept deeper into the foothills of Larimer, Jefferson and Douglas counties.

An area of moderate drought has also developed across parts of Baca County in southeast Colorado.

Abnormally dry, or pre-drought conditions, have expanded onto the northeast plains.
