Fire Crews Battle Grass Fire Near Franktown

FRANKTOWN, Colo. (CBS4)- Fire crews rushed to extinguish a grass fire that started near Franktown on Friday afternoon.

The fire grew to about five acres near Garton Road and Upper Lake Gulch. The blaze spread slowly and crews were able to put out the fire quickly.

Larkspur Fire and Castle Rock assisted Franktown Fire in battling the blaze.

Copter4 flew over the charred area where fire crews were mopping up hot spots. What caused the fire is being investigated.
