Fire Causes Heavy Damage To Denver Home

DENVER (CBS4) - A family escaped from their burning home overnight in Denver.

The house is located at 3820 North Zuni Street. Firefighters got the call at approximately 12:20 a.m. and when they arrived they found flames shooting from the back of the home. It took them about 30 minutes to put the fire out, and they had to rescue a man inside.

At one point they had to cut a hole in the roof of the home.

Authorities said the damage to the home was extensive.

Emergency crews said it appears the fire started in the kitchen of the home and then spread.

A teenaged girl and her mother were treated at the hospital for minor smoke inhalation.
