Find Your Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze: Department Of Agriculture Releases List

DENVER (CBS4) - With the arrival of cooler weather and changing trees, the time has come to begin heading out to the pumpkin patches and corn mazes.

Colorado has 864 farms offering agritourism activities, according to the last USDA Census, so the Colorado Department of Agriculture has put together a list of seasonal activities and where to find each.

The pumpkin patch and corn maze list covers farms in 19 Colorado counties that provide everything from tractor rides to petting zoos to live music.

In Jefferson County, the Denver Botanic Gardens will set up a corn maze, haunted maze, and pumpkin festival at Chatfield State Park. The Punkin Chunkin event will be held Oct. 10 - 11 in Aurora, where competitors see how far they can toss the gourd. Cottonwood Farm in Boulder County will be hosting a fall festival throughout the next month, complete with pumpkin patch and cornfield maze.

Just because the summer has ended doesn't mean the season of fresh produce is over. Colorado hosts plenty of winter farmers' markets, some year round and others monthly.

If you'd like to enjoy Colorado's finest without preparing it yourself, there's a list of Colorado Proud restaurants. It covers the entire state and is organized by county.

And for those who've got the rest of the year planned out, the Christmas tree list has been posted. Tree farms are listed by county, and information is available for cutting your own.
