Film On Gov. Hickenlooper Prompts Ethics Review

DENVER (AP) - An upcoming film about Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper is under review Tuesday by state officials considering its finances.

The Secretary of State's Office is scheduled to hear a complaint about the upcoming short documentary likely to criticize the Democratic governor.

At issue is whether the conservative group making the film should be required to disclose its finances in funding the documentary. The group Citizens United is making the film, and some say the film is political behavior that requires funding disclosure.

The question on funding transparency goes to Secretary of State Scott Gessler, who is one of four Republicans running to challenge Hickenlooper in November. The decision will be made by someone else in his office.
