FBI Seeks Missing Colorado Child Believed To Be In Hawaii

HONOLULU (AP) — The FBI is asking the public for help finding a Colorado child believed to be in Hawaii with her non-custodial father.

Nine-year-old Brianne Kirk lives in Colorado Springs with her mother. Her father took her camping on Hawaii's Big Island for spring break. She was supposed to return home at the end of March.

The FBI believes they are still on the Big Island and agents are appealing to Brian Kirk to bring his daughter home.

The FBI says a credible witness said he saw father and daughter Monday afternoon at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. A Big Island resident told agents Kirk told him in April he planned to sail to Malaysia with Brianne. It's not known if Kirk has the expertise or finances to make the trip.
