FBI: Metro Area Bank Robber May Be Carrying Explosives

DENVER (CBS4) - The FBI is hunting for an armed bank robber who may have strapped explosives to his waist during his heists.

The thief, who carried a large black rifle during the robberies, has hit two metro-area banks in the last two weeks.

No one has been injured.

On Monday, he robbed an Aurora Bank of the West. He hit a KeyBank near Leetsdale Drive and Holly Street on May 23.

The FBI describes him as a black man in his 40s, approximately 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-1 with medium build. He's left the crime scenes in a white Ford Expedition or Explorer, thought be a model year 1996 to 2001.
