Farmers, Ranchers Gather At Capitol For Ag Day

DENVER (CBS4) - Farmers and ranchers gathered at the capitol on Wednesday to celebrate National Agriculture Day. It's an event that celebrates the abundance provided by Colorado's agriculture industry.

The highlight of the event was the fourth annual chef cook-off. Fourteen culinary teams put together meals in competition for the "top dish" award.

While the event centered around the food, Gov. John Hickenlooper noted how important Colorado-grown food is to the entire country.

The Colorado Ag Council hopes to net more than $100,000 for the Colorado food bank through this event.
